Advanced color correction from within Media Composer, plus stock media integration for Adobe Premiere Pro
The Editors' Lounge was thrilled to welcome everyone back from the holidays by kicking off 2014 with a great pair of presentations.
First up was a one-two punch from Avid and FilmLight to demonstrate why editors use Baselight Editions and to show off Baselight grading directly within Avid Media Composer—on both Mac and Windows. Baselight for Avid shares the same color metadata as all systems in the FilmLight range, meaning that projects can be seamlessly transferred and shared between on-set, near-set and the grading suite simply and transparently, offering a powerful collaborative workflow.
Colorist Laura Jans Fazio and Avid Solutions Specialist Michael Krulik / Solution Design & Consulting, demonstrated and answered questions about the Avid and Baselight interoperability and how to create the perfect shot with Baselight for Avid. Features highlighted include Media Composer and Baselight workflow and toolset enhancements, AAF-based round-tripping, GPU acceleration, integration with Avid Artist Color and 3rd-other party control surfaces, and much more.
Byba Sepit and Steve PeƱafiel were on hand to share how the stock media libraries from Pond5 empower media makers. They demonstrated their new Adobe Premiere Pro plugin which allows for easy media search, powerful organization, and one-click conform of high-resolution media.
Special thanks to Blackmagic Design and Pond5 for supporting the raffle!
